Jernberg wins 600th game

Lake Travis boys basketball head coach Jan Jernberg has had a long career filled with a number of achievements.
Last week, he added one more to the list. Jernberg, now in his 12th season as the Lake Travis head coach, won his 600th career game in a 49-25 win over Tivy.

Mission accomplished.
Lake Travis (16-0) cemented its place in Texas football history by becoming the first 4A team to win back-to-back state titles in division one and two, dominating Longview (13-3) 48-23 Saturday afternoon at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Cavs one win away from second state title

The Cavaliers are one win away from fulfilling every gargantuan expectation laid upon them since winning their first state title.
Lake Travis (15-0) ran right over Friendswood (11-2) in the 4A Division I state semifinal on an extremely windy Saturday afternoon at Kyle Field in College Station, 56-22.

Gilbert named Gatorade football player of the year

Lake Travis quarterback Garrett Gilbert was named the 2008-09 Gatorade football player of the year, adding to a trophy cabinet that just keeps growing.
The senior quarterback has led Lake Travis to 28 consecutive victories over the last two seasons, including a state championship win over Highland Park in last year’s 4A DII final.

Cavaliers dominate Marble Falls hoops tournament

Lake Travis continues to dominate the hardwood in the shadow of the football playoffs, getting off to a nearly flawless start for the second year in a row.
The Cavaliers (9-1) cruised through the Marble Falls Tournament last weekend, and have won seven straight since losing to Austin High.
